The Complete List of Real Estate Designations and Certifications

CLEA AGENT CERTIFICATION INSTITUTE
June 15, 2026 · Agent Certification Institute · Updated October 15, 2026

Real estate designations and certifications come in a wider range than most agents realize, and they cluster into a handful of practical areas: representing buyers and sellers, negotiating and closing, marketing and lead generation, and serving specialty clients. This reference lists every designation Agent Certification Institute offers, grouped by track, followed by a short guide to well-known designations from other organizations so you can see the whole landscape in one place.

How to read this list

Each Agent Certification Institute designation below links to its own page with the full outline, who it is for, and how to enroll. Every designation lists at $97 (as of October 2026), and every one follows the same format: a self-paced online course of four units with practice quizzes and written assignments, then an exam of 15 multiple-choice questions plus four short written answers marked by a person. Pass with 70 or better (two attempts are included) and you receive a US Letter certificate dated the day you pass, valid for 12 months, plus a shareable badge and a public verification page. Renewal each year is a short update on what changed and a ten-question check. The All-Access membership at $199 a year, or $499 for lifetime access, unlocks every designation on this list.

The catalog is organized into four tracks. Each track groups designations that share a part of the job, so you can see at a glance where a credential fits and which ones sit naturally next to each other.

Agent Certification Institute is not affiliated with any of these organizations, and requirements, fees, and membership rules are set by each issuer, so check the issuer’s own site for current details.

Agent Certification Institute’s acronyms are chosen to stay clear of these, so the letters after your name are never confused with another organization’s credential.

How to use this list

You do not need every designation on this list, and collecting acronyms for their own sake is a waste of time and money. Pick the one or two areas that map to the business you want to grow, start there, and add others as your focus shifts. If you are early in your career, our guide to the best designations for new agents suggests an order. If you are still weighing whether any credential is worth the time, read are real estate designations worth it.

A note on what these credentials are. Agent Certification Institute designations are independent, voluntary credentials. They are not a license, they are not state continuing education credit, and they are not affiliated with or endorsed by the National Association of REALTORS. They are a way to build and signal skills, and the best ones on any list are simply the ones you will finish, use, and display.
