Terms of Service
Last updated 15 October 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Asymmetric Bets Limited, the New Zealand company that operates Agent Certification Institute ("we", "us"). By creating an account, buying anything, or joining the affiliate program you accept them.
What our designations are, and are not
Agent Certification Institute designations are voluntary professional credentials issued by an independent body. They are not a real estate license, they do not satisfy any state's continuing-education or licensing requirement by themselves, and Agent Certification Institute is not affiliated with or endorsed by the National Association of REALTORS® or any government licensing authority. Our courses teach practice, not law; nothing in them is legal, tax or financial advice, and you remain responsible for complying with the laws, regulations and brokerage policies that apply to you.
Your account
You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email, so keep that inbox secure. One account is for one person. Tell us at support@agentcertificationinstitute.com if you think someone else has used yours.
Purchases and memberships
- A designation is a one-time purchase that gives you lasting access to that designation's course and its exam.
- All-Access Annual is a subscription. It renews automatically each year at the price shown when you joined, and we email you before each renewal. Cancel any time from your account page; access continues to the end of the year you paid for.
- All-Access Lifetime is a one-time payment for access to every designation for as long as we offer them.
- Prices are in US dollars. Card payments are processed by Stripe and appear on statements as ONLINEEDU* AGENTCERT.
- Your saved card. When you pay, Stripe stores your card so you can upgrade to All-Access later in one click. We charge it only when you ask (for example by pressing the upgrade button) or for an All-Access Annual renewal you agreed to. You can remove it any time from your account page, through the secure billing portal.
Exams and credentials
- The final exam has a multiple-choice section and short written answers marked by a person within 2 business days. 70 of 100 passes. 2 attempts are included, and we add more at no charge on request.
- Your work must be your own. Sharing exam questions or answers, or submitting someone else's work (including text you did not write yourself), is grounds for failing the sitting and revoking any credential it earned.
- A credential is current for 1 year from issue or renewal. To keep it current you pass a short renewal exam and pay the renewal fee, or hold an All-Access membership, which keeps every credential you hold current while it lasts. A lapsed credential shows as lapsed on the public register until it is renewed.
- Holding 5 current designations earns the Master Real Estate Professional (MREP) capstone at no charge.
- You may use your designation letters and badge to describe yourself truthfully. You may not alter a certificate or badge, use a designation you do not currently hold, or imply that a designation is a license or a NAR credential.
- We may revoke a credential that was obtained dishonestly, that was paid for and then refunded or charged back, or that is being misrepresented. Revocation is recorded on the public register.
Refunds
30-day money-back guarantee. The full policy is on the refund policy page.
Affiliate program
- Affiliates earn 30% of the amount collected on sales made through their link, 30% of each annual membership renewal from customers they referred, and 10% of the first sales made by affiliates they recruited. Referral credit lasts 30 days from the click and goes to the first affiliate whose link was used.
- Commission becomes payable 60 days after the sale (past the 30-day refund window and the time most card disputes take to arrive) and is paid monthly by PayPal. Commission on refunded or charged-back sales is reversed, and any already paid is deducted from later payouts.
- You cannot earn commission on your own purchases. You must disclose that you earn commission wherever you promote us, as the FTC requires. Spam, misleading claims, bidding on our brand name in paid search, and posing as us are not allowed. In particular, never describe a designation as a license, as continuing-education credit, as accredited, or as connected to the National Association of REALTORS®, and never promise income or business results.
- Commission is paid only on real sales. Nothing is paid for recruiting other affiliates or for sign-ups alone.
- We may suspend an affiliate account that breaks these terms and withhold commission earned through the breach.
Our content
The courses, exams, certificates and site are ours. Your purchase is a personal licence to use them for your own professional development; you may not copy, resell or redistribute them.
Liability
We work hard to make the courses accurate and useful, but we provide them "as is" and we cannot guarantee any business result. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under consumer law that cannot be excluded, including under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act where it applies.
Changes and law
We may update these terms; the date above changes when we do, and material changes are emailed to account holders. These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, without limiting any consumer protection you have where you live. Contact us at support@agentcertificationinstitute.com.
