Our standards

What our designations stand for

A designation is only as good as the standard behind it. Here is exactly how Agent Certification Institute builds a program, how an agent earns it, how anyone can verify it, and the code of practice we hold ourselves to.

How a designation is built

Every program is written to a published content standard for that specialty, checked for real estate accuracy, then structured into practical, scenario-based lessons. We update material as the market and the rules change, so the training reflects how the job works now.

How it is earned

A designation is awarded only after you complete every unit and score 70 out of 100 on the final exam. Section A is scenario-based multiple choice; Section B is short written answers that a person reads and marks within 2 business days, so passing means you can apply the skill, not just recognize a term. 2 attempts are included, and we add more at no charge if you need them.

How it is verified

Every credential we issue gets a unique certificate number and a public verification page that shows whether it is current. Anyone (a client, a broker, a referral partner) can confirm a designation is genuine and current in seconds. This is the standard the older model never offered.

How it stays current

Badges are dated and valid for 12 months. To keep a designation current, a holder passes a short re-test and renews, or holds an all-access membership that keeps every badge current automatically. A credential should reflect current knowledge, not a one-time event years ago.

Code of practice

Honesty is the whole point

The reason many agents distrust credential programs is that some overstate what a designation is. We refuse to do that. Our commitments:

  • We describe our designations honestly. They are voluntary professional credentials, not government licenses or state continuing-education credit.
  • We are independent. Our designations are not affiliated with or endorsed by the National Association of REALTORS or any licensing authority.
  • We never imply a designation authorizes activity that requires a real estate license or other regulated qualification.
  • We stand behind every enrollment with a money-back guarantee, so the decision to earn a designation is risk-free.

Verify any credential we have issued

Every designation has a public proof page. Enter a certificate number to confirm the holder, the designation, and whether it is current.
