Negotiation & Transactions designations
Negotiate better terms and carry every deal from contract to close. 3 designations in this track, each a self-paced course and an exam, with a credential your clients can verify.

About the negotiation & transactions track
The Negotiation & Transactions track covers the part of a deal where the most can go wrong: the offer, the counteroffer, the contract and the weeks between acceptance and closing. Its three designations are built for agents who already bring clients to the table and want to protect those clients once terms are on the line. The skills apply whether you represent the buyer or the seller, and in a market that favors either side.
The Advanced Real Estate Negotiator is the foundation: a repeatable framework for preparing, making and answering offers, handling repair requests and credits, and protecting your own commission when the other side pushes on it. The Master Real Estate Negotiator builds on it with harder situations, including multiple offers, appraisal gaps, escalation clauses and counterparts who play hardball. The Certified Transaction Coordination Specialist covers contract to close: the purchase contract terms and contingencies an agent needs to understand, the deadlines that follow acceptance, coordinating the lender, title, inspection and appraisal, and keeping the file complete. It suits agents who manage their own transactions and the transaction coordinators and assistants who support them. None of these designations replaces legal advice, and contract forms vary by state, so the courses teach you to read your own forms closely and recognize when a client needs an attorney.
Most agents start with the Advanced Real Estate Negotiator and move to the master level once the fundamentals feel natural. The transaction coordination designation can be taken at any point. Together the three count toward the five designations that earn the Master Real Estate Professional capstone.

Questions about this track
Should I take the Advanced Real Estate Negotiator before the master level?+
Yes, that is the order we recommend. The Master Real Estate Negotiator assumes you already prepare for negotiations deliberately and can handle a straightforward counteroffer without improvising. It spends its time on harder cases, such as competing offers, appraisal gaps and escalation clauses, rather than revisiting the basics. Experienced negotiators can go straight to the master level, but most find the foundation course sharpens habits they did not realize they had.
Is the transaction coordination designation only for agents?+
No. The Certified Transaction Coordination Specialist is written for agents who manage their own files and for transaction coordinators and assistants who support agents or teams. It covers contract terms and contingencies at the level an agent needs, deadlines, coordination with lenders, title, inspectors and appraisers, client communication and file compliance. It does not teach legal drafting. Rules for unlicensed assistants vary by state, so check what your state and brokerage allow.
Does the track cover negotiating my own commission?+
Yes. Commissions are negotiable, and the Advanced Real Estate Negotiator treats your own fee as one more term you should be ready to discuss calmly and explain clearly. It covers how to present your value, how to respond when another party asks for a concession, and when a concession makes sense for the deal. The goal is a professional conversation with your client, never a fixed rate or a script that pressures anyone.
Do negotiation designations count toward the Master Real Estate Professional capstone?+
They do. The capstone is earned automatically once you hold any five current ACI designations, and all three in this track count. Completing them leaves you two away, and many agents fill that gap with the Certified Buyer Consultation Specialist and the Certified Market Analysis Specialist, since a good agreement and a well-supported price come before any offer is written. The Negotiation & Deals Path brings exactly that combination together.
