Missouri real estate license and CE requirements

What the Missouri Real Estate Commission asks of licensees, with a link to the official source for every figure.

Last reviewed October 15, 2026. Next review due October 2027.

Missouri asks for 12 hours every two years, and at least 3 must be an approved core course whose subject rotates each renewal period. For 2026 to 2028 the core subject is fair housing; for 2028 to 2030 it moves to agency. Licensees may take all 12 hours as core courses if they want to.

Brokers and salespersons renew on different dates in Missouri: broker licenses expired June 30, 2026 and salesperson licenses September 30, 2026, opening the current period. Anyone seeking credit for a course that is not preapproved must apply to the Missouri Real Estate Commission 90 days before expiration.

Rules change. The Missouri Real Estate Commission is the only authority on what you need to renew; where this page and the official source disagree, the official source is right. Blank figures say "Check with the Missouri Real Estate Commission" because we could not confirm them from an official source.

Optional professional development

Once your CE is done, these ACI designations go deeper on the same ground as parts of the Missouri requirements. They are voluntary, they are not CE, and you never need them to keep your license.
