Indiana licenses brokers only; managing broker is an eligibility a broker earns, not a separate license. Continuing education is tracked by CE year, July 1 to June 30, at 12 hours a year, and licenses renew every three years, which works out to 36 hours per renewal.
Brokers who serve as managing brokers must include at least 4 hours of managing broker content in each year they serve. New brokers have two years to complete 30 hours of post-licensing education, which covers their first two CE years. Proof is not filed at renewal in Indiana; the commission audits a random sample afterward.
