Delaware builds its 21 renewal hours out of seven 3-hour modules, each on a set theme: agency and fair housing, professional standards, real estate documents, office management, legislative issues, practices of real estate, and electives. Every license level follows the same modules, and licenses expire April 30 of even-numbered years.
New salespersons in Delaware also complete four 3-hour new-licensee modules within 90 days of being licensed. First-renewal hours are prorated by issue date, so someone licensed late in a cycle can owe far less than 21. Finishing the Delaware broker licensing course counts for all seven modules in that renewal period.
