West Virginia renews licenses every fiscal year, July 1 to June 30, and asks for 7 hours of continuing education each year, with each hour equal to 50 minutes. Brokers and associate brokers must include 3 hours of broker-level education in their 7.
Renewal opens May 1, and CE must be taken during the fiscal year before the year being renewed. The West Virginia Real Estate Commission exempts new licensees who passed both exams in the fiscal year of their first renewal and renew by June 30.

Rules change. The West Virginia Real Estate Commission is the only authority on what you need to renew; where this page and the official source disagree, the official source is right. Blank figures say "Check with the West Virginia Real Estate Commission" because we could not confirm them from an official source.
